Vacant Lot Visioning Project

The LCA's vacant lots committee would like to lead the Longfellow neighborhood through a guided visioning process to imagine and plan how we can best utilize the four adjacent lots currently owned by the LCA. Half of this land is currently occupied by the Longfellow Farm, a thriving vegetable garden and community space with a patio, tables, and shipping container shed. The other half is open and basically unused except for occasional recreation and as a cut-through. The visioning process will be led by Eco Abet, a group of architects, designers, and activists who have set out to empower the community with access to design. Eco Abet will assist with creating a neighborhood asset map, undertaking an inclusive neighborhood survey and mini-charrette, and finally a larger charrette to create a design for the space.
