WCAC Community Park

Apparently, fighting crime sometimes includes starting a community garden. A once unkempt city park on a popular street in Kansas City, KS has been transformed into a community park and orchard. The Wyandotte County Against Crime Community Park is now litter-free and
growing with edible possibilities. That's right, WCAC bought a park from the CIty of Kansas City, KS and removed blight, trash and planted fruit trees for the community.

Operation Brightside

Operation Brightside provides services that assist residents with efforts to clean-up their neighborhood. As residents, we all play an essential role in maintaining and sustaining a safe and healthy living environment for our children and families.

Every year in the spring from 9am-noon neighbors get together to pick up trash in the community. Neighbors and students from the high school also paint fire hydrants to assist fire department in locating workable hydrants.
