Blue Hills residents and neighborhood leaders held a one-day walk-a-thon. Participants went door-to-door recruiting block captains, talking to residents, and distributing association newsletters.
Every month the Blue Hills Neighborhood Association Real Estate Committee meets to discuss and take action on issues related to real estate in the neighborhood.
The clean up will clear blight from the area and paired with a picnic will build neighborhood pride.
Kansas City Community Gardens has provided families of the Boston Heights and Mount Hope with community gardens at the intersection of Lynn Ave and Highland at 29th Street. Orchards provide fruits that are available for all.
This project will establish two community gardens to help bring together the community, students, teachers, and the LINC afterschool program. Will have membership with Kansas City Community Gardens.
SONA will cleanup lots adjacent lots to create a holistic site in the community that everyone can enjoy. The project will include a butterfly sanctuary and library and a butterfly laybrinth and meditation area with walking path.

Carol's Garden, a "front yard" garden was started in March, 2010, to supplement our food pantry, providing fresh vegetables to families that do not have access to such food otherwise.
Project #1: Carnival geared towards kids in the neighborhood. Activities will include fishing demo, fishing derby, mounted patrol, fire trucks, presentation by Lakeside Nature Center, face painting, clowns, games, and food.
